I'm not seeing the latest updates on my site
If you just published a blog post and you're not seeing it appear on your site, or you've made any other change on your site and it's not appearing for you, then the issue is cache.
Cache is where all the data of your site is stored in an external location over a period of time so that your site runs quickly and all the data from your site doesn't have to be loaded every time the page reloads.
The thing with cache though is it can be caching in several locations so I'll cover the 3 main areas that you'll check and clear in order to see your changes:
The first place to check is your browser settings and make sure you clear your cache and cookies. Once you do this, refresh the page of your site and see if you see the edits you've made. If not, move to the next step.
Navigate to Plugins in your dashboard and see if you have any plugins install that have the word "cache" in them. If so, you can either turn that plugin off, or you can go to the settings of that plugin and clear the cache. I prefer you to go to the settings and clear/delete the cache to make sure it actually clears.
If you've done this step and you're still not seeing your edits, go to the next step.
The next step is to check with your hosting provider and make sure they don't have a cache option turned on with your site. Some hosts will automatically turn this on without your knowledge so this could very likely be the cause of your trouble. You'll ask them if there is a Server Side Cache enabled for your website and then have them turn it off.
Cache is actually a great thing because it keeps your site running quickly and efficiently but it can be troublesome especially when publishing new blog posts and then others not seeing the updates as you post on social media. My recommendation is to make sure you have the Server Side Cache turned off (because you can't easily clear it) and use a plugin instead.
