The home page is comprised of 2 widget areas:
- Home – Top Slider
- Home Flexible
Here is an overview of all the widget areas and what widgets will go in them:
Home – Top Slider
You can use the Soliloquy or Genesis Responsive Slider in this space. See here for specific slider instructions.
Home Flexible
Here is an example of what is shown in the theme demo. However, you can choose to add text widgets, or anything that fits your needs!
These are the settings using the Genesis Featured Page widget:
If you'd like the title that appears over the top of your image to be linked to the page, you'll remove the text in the title field, and then select the Show Page Title option. This will show the exact page title you have on the page you select in the Page drop down menu.
These are the settings using the Genesis Featured Post widget:
The way this widget works is it will show the featured image from the most recent blog post within the category you’ve selected. Then it will link to that blog post. If you want to add a widget that has a specific image for the category and then links directly to the category, see this tutorial and you'll use a Genesis -Featured Page widget like we did above for the about page.
You can also choose different image sizes for these featured spaces. I’ve included a square and vertical option to choose from to fit your images best!
This entire space is flexible and will reformat depending on the number of widgets placed into this space.
